Job summary

Hughes Mining Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Painter/Blaster for an immediate start on a mine site in WA. This hands-on role involves surface preparation, abrasive blasting and applying protective coatings to fixed plant, structural steel, and equipment in an operating mine environment.

Roster is 2 weeks on, 1 week off (2:1). Candidates must have proven blasting/painting experience, pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen, and be capable of working at heights and in confined

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter/Blaster (no trade certificate necessary)
• RIIWHS204E – Work safely at heights
• RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces
• HRWL – WP (Elevating Work Platform) is desirable but not essential
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
• A strong safety focus and good work ethic
• Availability to start immediately

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting and surface preparation to required standards
• Applying protective coatings by spray, brush and roller
• Working at heights and in confined spaces under site permit systems
• Setting up, operating and maintaining blasting and painting equipment
• Following all site safety procedures and housekeeping requirements
