Job summary

Bella Casa Painting and Decorating is seeking a permanent full-time Painter in the Brisbane area. The role involves preparing sites, selecting finishes, applying paints and maintaining high standards across residential and commercial projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (preferred) with 1 year of relevant experience, or 2–3 years without the qualification. Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (preferred).
• 1 year of relevant painting experience with qualification, or 2–3 years without qualification.
• Proficient in rolling, brushing, texture finishes, crackling and sponging.
• Experience with surface preparation and coating systems.

Responsibilities

Bella Casa Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd is a professional painting and decorating company servicing Brisbane and surrounding areas. We specialise in high-quality residential and commercial painting, including interior and exterior repaints, new work, preparation and restoration projects. We are looking to immediately fill a permanent full-time position as Painter.

Key responsibilities

• Assessing jobs and preparing sites to ensure protection from paint spattering on unwanted areas


• Assessing the best locations to position scaffolding and ladders


• Erecting and positioning scaffolding, ladders and drop sheets safely


• Preparing surfaces for painting by removing old coverings, scraping, sanding, filling and patching to ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for painting


• Selecting appropriate paints, coatings, colours and additives to achieve the required finish and meet client expectations


• Mixing and matching paints and colours as required


• Applying paints and other finishes to designated surfaces using the most appropriate painting techniques


• Proficiently using scrapers, edgers, brushes, rollers, sponges, tapes and spray equipment as appropriate for each job


• Applying primers, sealers, undercoats and finishing coats


• Completing interior and exterior painting work to a high professional standard


• Ensuring completed work meets company quality standards and client expectations


• Keeping work areas clean, organised and free from unnecessary materials


• Cleaning and maintaining painting tools and equipment after use


• Working independently and as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes

About you

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating is preferred


• At least 1 year of relevant work experience where the applicant holds a relevant qualification, or at least 2-3 years of relevant painting experience where the applicant does not hold a relevant qualification


• Proficiency in various painting and decorating techniques, including rolling, brushing, texture finishes, crackling and sponging


• Experience with surface preparation and the application of different paint and coating systems


• Strong attention to detail and consistent workmanship


• Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines


• Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Current driver's licence preferred

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum + superannuation
