St Andrew’s Cathedral School invites final-year tertiary students in 2027 to join as an intern for one day per week, term-time only, commencing Week 1 of Term 1 2027. You will be embedded in a Christian school community with a dedicated mentor and School Coordinator support, plus collegial weekly intern meetings and reflections on teaching goals.

Qualifications

• A tertiary student in their final year in 2027 (Bachelor or Master of Education/ Teaching)
• Possess a genuine interest to learn about teaching in a Christian School
• Able to demonstrate a growing knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of pedagogy.
• Display outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers
• Understand and have a commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values and ethos.

Responsibilities

• Mentor teacher provided to the intern
• Oversight by the School Coordinator and collegial weekly Intern meetings
• Participation in devotionals and professional discussions about teaching practice
• Paid opportunities to attend relevant Professional Learning
