Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Unaccredited Trainee in Paediatrics to provide clinical management of paediatric patients under supervision, across Blacktown-Mount Druitt Hospital, while developing expertise in paediatric practice. The role includes exposure to neonatal and paediatric resuscitation and is part of a multidisciplinary team.

The appointment requires MBBS or equivalent with registration eligibility by the Medical Board of Australia and a minimum of 2 years post-graduate training, including

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Minimum of 2 years post graduate training, including 12 months in general paediatrics and 3 months in neonatology.
• Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Advanced communication skills, including conveying information to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
• Willingness to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective clinical management of paediatric patients under supervision.
• Assess paediatric and neonatal patients across ED, inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and care planning.
• Support paediatric and neonatal resuscitation and acute care.
• Review patients in Paediatric Ambulatory Care clinics and coordinate transfers when needed.
