Job summary

Cornerstone Medical Recruitment – Cairns QLD is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to support an established paediatric caseload in Townsville. Flexible arrangement including short-term contracts and potential relocation or FIFO options.

The role focuses on paediatric assessment and therapy, with a strong emphasis on Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients, home, school and clinic settings, and outreach across North Queensland.

Qualifications

• Current Speech Pathology Australia registration.
• Paediatric experience with children aged 0-6 years.
• Strong speech and language assessment and intervention skills.
• Confidence working with families and other professionals.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to clinical practice.
• Strong communication and family engagement skills.
• DHH experience is highly regarded but not essential; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Paediatric speech and language assessment and intervention.
• Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients and families support.
• Work with clients with complex and dual diagnoses.
• Engage First Nations families and remote communities.
• Provide home, school and clinic-based services.
• Telehealth for remote families and outreach between North Queensland locations.
• Support short-term, goal-oriented therapy and family coaching.
