Job summary

Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) is Australia’s largest paediatric health service, delivering care across hospitals and homes. The CMO/NETS role involves leading medical retrieval, coaching clinicians, and guiding quality improvement initiatives to enhance paediatric care.

You will chair NETS calls, support nurses and doctors, and contribute to policy and clinical guideline development across the network.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical retrieval.
• Extensive experience in management of critically ill neonates and/or children.
• Proficient in resuscitation of children and newborns.
• Experience in quality improvement and audit of patient care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Registrable in NSW as a medical practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Coach and educate doctors on short-term contracts and new medical retrievals.
• Support complex missions as medical team leader or member.
• Chair NETS calls under supervision of the duty consultant.
• Contribute to development of Nurse Practitioner role at NETS.
• Review calls, cases, mortality/morbidity data and present at team/educational activities.
• Contribute to standing committees (Mortality, Morbidity, Education, Policy, Equipment, Research, Systems).
• Develop guidelines and resources to enhance quality of care.
