Job summary

Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) in Adelaide is seeking a Nurse Consultant in Infectious Diseases for Paediatric Medicine. You will provide advanced clinical leadership and expert paediatric nursing care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

Reporting to the Nursing Director – Operations, you will lead nurse-led clinics, care coordination, discharge planning and follow-up services, with a focus on care-at-home opportunities and improved patient outcomes through

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Extensive post-registration clinical experience in paediatrics.
• Demonstrated expertise in paediatric infectious diseases or related specialty.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to patient and family-centred care and culturally safe practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, specialist nursing care for paediatric infectious diseases patients across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
• Lead nurse-led clinics, care coordination, discharge planning and follow-up services to support seamless patient journeys.
• Deliver outreach services and expand care-at-home and care-closer-to-home models.
• Provide expert clinical advice and consultation to multidisciplinary teams, patients and families.
• Make independent clinical decisions and implement evidence-based interventions to optimise outcomes.
• Lead quality improvement, governance and risk management initiatives.
• Contribute to development of clinical protocols and innovative care models.
• Support education, mentoring and capability development of nursing staff.
