Job summary

Brightwater Paediatrics is seeking a warm, reliable Junior Medical Receptionist to join our two-person front desk team at Mountain Creek on the Sunshine Coast. In this part-time role you’ll manage bookings, process payments and support the clinical team in a family-centred paediatric practice.

You will engage with children and families, coordinate scheduling using Xestro, and help maintain accurate patient records in a calm, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in medical or allied health reception.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and staff.
• Ability to manage a busy desk with attention to detail.
• Confidence with computers and practice management software (Xestro preferred).
• Willingness to obtain Blue Card/Working with Children Check before start.

Responsibilities

• Welcome children and families, creating a calm, friendly environment.
• Manage appointment bookings and schedule changes in Xestro.
• Answer phone and email enquiries professionally.
• Confirm appointments, chase referrals and prepare daily schedule.
• Process payments and assist with billing and Medicare.
• Scan and file patient records accurately.
• Monitor and replenish reception and medical supplies.
• Set up consulting rooms and prep for the next day.
• Assist with weekly social media scheduling.
• Support the Senior Receptionist and clinical team daily.
