Responsibilities

Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, innovative and dedicated Specialist Paediatrician to join a growing, dynamic team as the third Paediatrician.

The new modern facility, delivering a wide range of new and enhanced medical services to the Valley and broader community is located approximately 1.5 km from the City.

The integrated health campus offers extensive community and ambulatory services, community mental health, drug and alcohol services, an emergency department, combined Integrated Critical Care Unit, regional orthopaedic services and expanded surgical, maternity and paediatrics.

Paediatric Department

A Level 4 Paediatric Unit with 6 paediatric inpatient beds and 4 short stay beds. The department supports a well-staffed and experienced emergency department with 4000 paediatric emergency presentations annually and a 2 bed special care nursery supporting a Level 3 maternity service that delivers 300+ babies per annum.

The department provides busy local outpatient paediatric clinics comprising challenging and interesting medicine as well as outreach outpatient services to the region; Provides paediatric education, consultation and support services across the health service.

Paediatric medicine and unmet needs for children in the region has been identified as a priority area for this district.

As such, this position affords an opportunity to join a team of committed paediatricians in an exciting service development opportunity.

Requirements

Interested in service development and further growing the inpatient and outpatient services. A Paediatrician that has strong interests and skills in building collaborative partnerships within and outside of NSW Health.

The clinical workload is varied and challenging and encompasses acute neonatal and paediatric medicine, chronic and complex medical care, complex social challenges, and learning, development and behavioural medicine - A paediatrician with strong clinical skills in these areas.

Those with subspecialty or academic interests are also encouraged to apply and to pursue their interests within this position.
