Job summary

Santé Recruitment is partnering with a major regional health service to appoint a Consultant Paediatrician in the VIC/NSW border region. The role offers full-time, substantive duties across inpatient, newborn, and outpatient care within a consultant-led model.

You will join a well-established paediatric service with a strong multidisciplinary team and ongoing redevelopment to expand emergency and short-stay facilities.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Paediatrics is required or eligible.
• Eligible for Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Specialist Registration.
• International Medical Graduates (IMG) assessed by RACP as partially or substantially comparable.

Responsibilities

• This role provides general paediatrics and newborn care across inpatient, newborn, and outpatient settings.
• Work within a structured, consultant-led model supported by a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to service redevelopment and growth within a major regional referral centre.
• Engage in a broad scope of paediatrics, with strong collaboration across ICU, obstetrics, and anaesthetics.

The Opportunity

Sante Recruitment is partnering with one of the largest regional health services between Sydney and Melbourne to appoint a Consultant Paediatrician.

This is a full-time, substantive opportunity within a well-established and expanding paediatric service, delivering care across a large and diverse regional population.

You will work within a structured, consultant-led model, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive paediatric care across inpatient, newborn, and outpatient settings.

This role is ideal for Paediatricians seeking clinical breadth, service stability, and meaningful impact within a major regional referral centre.

The Health Service

This organisation is the principal referral service for a cross-border population of approximately 250,000, delivering a broad range of secondary and tertiary-level services.

Paediatric Services Include:

• General inpatient paediatrics
• Special Care Nursery support
• Integrated newborn care with maternity services
• Paediatric Emergency Department presentations
• Regional referral and outreach services
• Close collaboration with ICU, Anaesthetics, and Obstetrics

The service is undergoing significant redevelopment, including expansion of Emergency and short-stay facilities—enhancing overall paediatric and acute care capability.
