Job summary

Santé Recruitment is assisting a major regional referral centre in Tamworth, NSW, to recruit a Staff Specialist in Cardiologist.

You will deliver comprehensive paediatric and neonatal cardiology services across inpatient, outpatient, and neonatal settings, while contributing to teaching, supervision and regional outreach. The role offers strong MDT support and opportunities to develop subspecialty interests.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) is required.
• Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA is required.
• Eligibility via an overseas-trained specialist pathway is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient, outpatient, and neonatal cardiology care within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision, and service development.
• Engage in regional outreach and collaborate with tertiary/subspecialty centres.
• Work with visiting subspecialists from John Hunter Children's Hospital.

The Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a major regional referral centre, delivering comprehensive paediatric and neonatal care across a large and diverse catchment in northern New South Wales.

You will work within a well-supported multidisciplinary team, contributing to inpatient, outpatient, and neonatal services, while also playing a key role in teaching, service development, and regional outreach.

With 282 beds, this is the largest regional hospital in NSW outside the Sydney–Wollongong–Newcastle corridor, providing a wide range of specialist services.

• 18-bed inpatient unit with 2,600+ admissions annually
• Outpatient clinics seeing approximately 5,000 patients per year

The service is supported by visiting subspecialists from John Hunter Children's Hospital, including:
