Job summary

Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is seeking a Paediatric Anaesthesia Consultant to deliver safe anaesthesia and acute pain management for children, including elective and emergency procedures. The role covers in-hours and after-hours care within the Children’s Anaesthesia Department and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree with eligibility for Specialist Registration.
• Extensive clinical experience in paediatric anaesthesia.
• Significant experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class clinical service to inpatients and outpatients of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and affiliated agencies.
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments including pre-anaesthetic clinics.
• Participate in after-hours emergency on-call roster and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Support the Acute Pain Management Service and contribute to staff training and research in paediatric anaesthesia.
• Maintain commitment to continuing medical education and assist with management portfolios.
