Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer in Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine to support a developing eating disorder service. The role spans outpatient and inpatient care for patients up to 25 years old, working with paediatric and mental health teams.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, supervise junior staff, and participate in on-call duties while contributing to audits, quality improvement, and research within Barwon Health.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for paediatric and adolescent patients with eating disorders.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams including mental health services.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised medical care to young people up to 25 years with eating disorders across inpatient, outpatient and HITH settings.
• Lead and support the multidisciplinary team; supervise junior doctors and trainees; participate in MDT meetings.
• Ensure safe, evidence-based care in line with Australian standards and Barwon Health policies; contribute to audits and quality improvement.
