Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking Visiting Medical Officers (VMO) in Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine for a new medical eating disorder team. Most patients will be paediatric, with care extending up to age 25.

Role blends outpatient and inpatient support, collaborating with mental health services and GPs. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, supervise trainees, and contribute to audits, research and quality improvement within a regional health system.

Qualifications

• Must hold medical degree and be registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship in Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine.
• Experience working with young people with eating disorders.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call roster.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised medical care to patients up to age 25 with eating disorders across inpatient, HITH and outpatient settings.
• Lead and support the multidisciplinary team; supervise junior doctors and trainees; participate in MDT meetings and on-call duties.
• Ensure patient- and family-centered, evidence-based care in line with Australian standards and Barwon Health policies.
