Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Parks Maintenance Officer to join the Parks and Assets team, maintaining Redlands Coast parks, gardens and spaces. The role is hands-on, outdoors, and involves horticulture, landscape upkeep and asset maintenance across multiple sites.

You will inspect assets, operate equipment, and contribute to safety and quality standards while supporting a collaborative team dedicated to delivering excellent community spaces.

Qualifications

• Class C driver's license required.
• TAFE Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in parks, horticulture or landscape maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a broad range of horticultural and parks maintenance activities across Council’s parks, gardens and open spaces.
• Operate and maintain a variety of plant, tools and equipment to ensure spaces are presented to a high standard.
• Inspect parks and playgrounds to identify hazards and report defects.
• Monitor safety risks including playground equipment condition and trip hazards.
• Complete risk assessments and contribute to workplace health and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
