Job summary

YMCA Victoria is seeking qualified Swim Teachers to deliver Learn to Swim lessons at the Castlemaine Outdoor Pool. The role supports school aged children from December to March, focusing on stroke development and water safety.

This casual position offers up to $34.96 per hour plus super and YMCA benefits. Essential qualifications include CPR and an Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety; additional First Aid and specialized aquatic teaching credentials are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must hold CPR accreditation (HLTAID009) and be an Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent).
• Experience delivering Learn to Swim programs is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to design engaging lessons and progress students through levels.

Responsibilities

• Structure and design lessons with activities that develop swimming and water safety skills.
• Recommend students for level progression as appropriate.
• Teach and model problem solving and conflict resolution.
