Job summary

SSE is seeking an Operational Technology Technical Engineer to join the Distribution OT team. You will help deliver upgrades and monitor the reliability of OT systems, working with OT Support & Engineering to support ED2/ED3 plans.

You will work across OT teams, including cyber security activities, and may join a 24-hour standby rota. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and collaboration in a small team.

Qualifications

• Experience with OT applications.
• Curious about understanding complex systems.
• Experience with scripting, server management and databases; GE PowerOn and AVEVA PI training available.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a small team.
• Full driving licence preferred for out-of-hours rota.

Responsibilities

• Help introduce new technologies and deliver detailed proofs of concepts.
• Collaborate with Distribution Control Centres to develop, enhance and simulate control systems.
• Participate in Cyber Security activities and monitor health and security of OT systems.
• Investigate and resolve faults; may participate in a 24-hour standby rota.
