Job summary

Helping Hands Narangba is seeking a Casual Educator to support Holiday HQ OSHC programs for primary school children. This role fits around university studies or other commitments and focuses on engaging activities, development through play, and safe, supervised care during school holidays.

Ideal candidates are university students, teacher's aides or school officers with a love for working with children, strong communication, and availability during September holidays.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: working towards or completed a relevant qualification as a 1-2Year Qualified Educator in QLD (ACECQA).
  • Availability in September school holidays.
  • National Child Safety Training prior to onboarding.
  • Love for working with children.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player with leadership aspirations.
  • Willing to obtain a national police check and working-with-children check.
  • Must have valid Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

  • Mainly work Holiday HQ shifts across school holidays (6am-6pm).
  • Join the OSHC Holiday HQ team at Helping Hands Narangba to create engaging experiences for primary school children.

Who are we looking for?

While we’re happy to provide training and guidance in the role and sector, here are a few qualities we’re looking for:

  • Desirable but not mandatory: Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 1 or 2Year QualifiedEducatorin QLDin accordance with ACECQA
  • Availability in September school holidays
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko).
  • A genuine love for working with children.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A team player with aspirations to take on leadership opportunities.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a national police check (which we will cover!) and a state working-with-children check.
  • Must have valid Australian work rights.
