Job summary

The Y NSW is seeking an Experienced OSHC Educator to deliver high-quality school-age care programs on-site. You will plan, implement, and evaluate activities that support children’s learning, wellbeing, and independence in line with the NQF and My Time, Our Place frameworks.

You will build warm, inclusive relationships with children and families, maintain safe supervision, document observations, and participate in team meetings and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in School Age Education and Care or equivalent.
  • Diploma qualification preferred.
  • Experience in OSHC or school-age care environment.
  • Knowledge of NQF, NQS and My Time, Our Place.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate programs for school-aged children.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Ensure safety and supervision of all children at all times.
  • Maintain accurate observations, incident reports and attendance records.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development and performance reviews.
  • Support and mentor less experienced educators.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Experienced OSHC Educator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to delivering high‑quality care and educational experiences for school‑aged children in an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) setting.

About the Role

As an Experienced OSHC Educator, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging programs that support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of school‑aged children, while adhering to the National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age‑appropriate programs and activities that promote children's learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Foster positive, respectful, and nurturing relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of all children in attendance at all times
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including observations, incident reports, and attendance records
  • Actively contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Uphold and implement the service's policies, procedures, and quality improvement plans
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding their child's progress and daily experiences
  • Participate in regular team meetings, professional development opportunities, and performance reviews
  • Support and mentor less experienced educators where required
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate III in School Age Education and Care or equivalent (Diploma preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working within an OSHC or similar school‑aged care environment
  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and My Time, Our Place framework
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Completed National child safety training (1-4)
  • Current First Aid, CPR,
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Genuine passion for working with school‑aged children and supporting their holistic development
