Job summary

Big Childcare is seeking an enthusiastic OSHC Centre Manager (Coordinator) to lead a team at Wallan Primary School. This full‑time role focuses on safety, inclusion and delivering high‑quality care that supports children, families and the school community.

You will supervise Educators, manage rostering, training and compliance, while monitoring the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place guidelines. Vacation care hours vary during school holidays.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education & Care or School Age Education & Care.
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• National Police Check within 6 months or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid in an Early Education setting.
• Food Safety Certificate.
• Work rights in Australia.
• Leadership experience in OSHC or ECEC with knowledge of NQF & My Time, Our Place.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Educators to deliver high‑quality care and build strong relationships with families.
• Ensure safety, inclusion and engagement for children in the service.
• Oversee budgeting, rostering, staff training and compliance to keep the service running smoothly.
• Partner with Wallan Primary School to strengthen community connections and program delivery.

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic, experienced and child-safety-focused OSHC Centre Manager (Coordinator) to join our team at Wallan Primary School.

The role?

As our Manager, you’ll keep things running smoothly, support and inspire your team, and make sure every child feels safe, included and excited to walk through our doors.Leading a team of passionate Educators, you will ensure the delivery of high‑quality care, build fantastic relationships with families and strengthen our connection with the school community.

This is a full-time position, and our operational hours during term time are:

You’ll enjoy a mix of hands‑on time with children, team leadership and behind‑the‑scenes organisation (such as budgeting, staff training, compliance & rostering) that keeps a great service ticking along!

Please note, during school holidays, our vacation care programs have different hours.

You:

• Believe child safeguarding is at the top of the priority list when it comes to running an Outside of School Hours Care service, and ensure a fun and safe environment where children can thrive;
  
• Display excellent relationship skills, collaborating daily with our schools to ensure children and families receive a warm welcome, excellent education & play opportunities, and all feel included, safe and secure in our care;
  
• Bring positive energy, teamwork and a can‑do attitude to everything you do;
  
• Display excellent leadership skills and experience rostering and coordinating team meetings;
  
• Ensure the service delivers to the National Quality Framework and internal policies are followed and adhered to, including incident reporting & medication plans to name a few;
  
• Plan exciting, play‑based and child‑led programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place learning framework.
  

What you’ll need?

• A Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education & Care, or School Age Education & Care, or an ACECQA recognised equivalent;
  
• A valid WWCC;
  
• Relevant Child Protection & Child Safety training certificates and an excellent knowledge of child safeguarding;
  
• A National Police Check that has been completed within 6 months, or a willingness to obtain;
  
• First Aid in an Early Education setting;
  
• Food Safety Certificate;
  
• Work rights in Australia;
  
• Leadership experience in OSHC or ECEC and a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework & My Time, Our Place learning framework.
  
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
