Job summary

Windermere Child and Family Services is seeking a Casual OSHC Assistant Educator to join our leisure-based school programs across Koo Wee Rup, Drouin South, Bayles and Lang Lang. We require a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education (or current student), a valid First Aid certificate (HLTAID004) and a Working with Children’s Check.

You will plan engaging activities and support children’s wellbeing in a team that values inclusion.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or working towards.
• Bachelor of Teaching in ECE or PE in progress.
• Current First Aid certificate HLTAID004.
• Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC).
• Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework.

Our OSHC team is seeking to find our next superstar Assistant Educator in a casual capacity. You may be required to work across multiple locations including - Koo Wee Rup, Drouin South, Bayles or Lang Lang.

Locations available:

Koo Wee Rup

Our Koo Wee Rup service is based out of St John the Baptist Primary School, along Station Street. Hours of operation are 6:15am-8:45am, and 2:55pm-6:30pm.

Drouin South

Our Drouin South service is based out of Drouin South Primary School, along Westernport Road. Hours of operation are 6:15am-8:45am, and 3:15pm-6:30pm.

Bayles

Our Bayles service is based out of Bayles Regional Primary School, along Ballarto Road. Hours of operation are 6:15am-8:45am, and 3:15pm-6:30pm.

Lang Lang

Our Lang Lang service is based out of Lang Lang Primary School, along Westernport Road. Hours of operation are 6:15am-8:45am, and 3:15pm-6:30pm.

School Holiday Program – Koo Wee Rup & Drouin South only

In addition to our school term program, we also run an exciting and fun filled OSHC School Holiday Program from our Koo Wee Rup location during the Victorian public school holidays. Running for 2 weeks each term break and 3 weeks every January. The Program runs every Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm, offering extended hours and a great opportunity for staff to pick up additional work during these busy holiday periods. This is open to all staff in the OSHC program

Currently this program focuses on providing before and after school care from Monday to Friday and the roster hours are as follows:

Monday: 6.15-8.45 & 3.15-6.30

Tuesday: 6.15-8.45 & 3.15-6.30

Wednesday: 6.15-8.45 & 3.15-6.30

Thursday: 6.15-8.45 & 3.15-6.30

Friday: 6.15-8.45 & 3.15-6.30

We are seeking Casual Assistant Educators to join our Out of Hours Care (OSHC) program for our services in the Southeast. This is an exciting opportunity to not only gain valuable work experience, but to really make the role your own by bringing your infectious energy in delivering a unique, inclusive and fun-filled play-based programs to school age children. Furthermore, you will:

• Assist in planning, preparing and delivering innovative play-based learning activities
• Develop professional working relationships with families, school leaders in the school community
• Maintain excellent health, safety and wellbeing of children

To be considered for this role, you will:

• Be Certificate III qualified in Early Childhood Education (or enrolled and working towards)
• Currently completing your Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education or Physical Education
• Have the relevant First Aid Certificate (HLTAID004)
• Hold a valid Working with Children’s Employee Check
• Demonstrated ability in working within the National Quality Framework

Key Selection Criteria:

• ACECQA approved qualification for Educators working with over preschool children
• Current Victorian Working with Children’s Employee Check
• Level 2 First Aid, including CPR and Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management training or willingness to undertake
• Understanding of the needs and development of school aged children
• Previous experience and/or Food Safety Handling certificate would be an advantage
• Demonstrated experience in working within the National Quality Framework
• Demonstrated ability and understanding of developing positive relationships with children and families
• Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
• Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence free from conditions.
• Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks - including Police Check and Pre-Employment Medical check.
• Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa holder with full working rights
