Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies seeks a Satellites Operations Engineer II to lead mission activities, monitor spacecraft health, and develop operational plans. The role covers commissioning, operations, and end-of-life activities, with collaboration across spacecraft engineering, software, and mission management teams.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and hands-on experience with mission planning, telemetry, and spacecraft commands, plus Linux, Python and SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Experience with spacecraft operations, mission planning or testing is preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting and data analysis tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute satellite mission activities across all mission phases, including commissioning, operations, and end-of-life activities.
• Monitor spacecraft health and performance, analyse telemetry, and execute spacecraft commanding per procedures.
• Develop mission plans, schedules, command sequences, and operational products.
• Develop and document testing activities, validation, verification, and rehearsals.
• Investigate anomalies, perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis, support recovery planning.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, flight rules, and training materials.
• Support mission control systems, ground segment operations, and readiness activities.
• Identify improvements to processes, tools, automation, and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, software, AIT, and mission management teams.
• Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support as required.
