Job summary

Gilmour Space seeks a Satellites Operations Engineer II to join Australia’s space program, located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of spacecraft operations, mission operations, spacecraft testing, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• Understanding of spacecraft subsystems, mission planning, mission operations, and orbital mechanics.
• Experience developing and executing operational procedures, test plans, or mission activities.
• Experience monitoring telemetry, analysing spacecraft performance, and executing spacecraft commands.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute satellite missions across all phases.
• Monitor spacecraft health, analyse telemetry, and issue commands.
• Develop mission plans, schedules and command sequences.
• Test activities: validation, verification, and rehearsals.
• Investigate anomalies and support recovery planning.
• Maintain operational procedures, flight rules and docs.
• Support mission control and ground segment readiness.
• Identify improvements to processes and tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, software, AIT and management.
• Provide on-call/after-hours operational support.
