Job summary

NTT Data is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support secure, highly available enterprise databases. You will handle administration, performance tuning, patching, backups, and monitoring in a highly governed environment.

The role requires hands-on Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN experience and Linux/Unix familiarity, with a hybrid work model (2 days onsite) in Sydney CBD. Start ASAP for a 6-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Hands-on with Oracle RAC, Data Guard and RMAN.
• Experience in performance tuning and SQL troubleshooting.
• Backing up, recovering, patching and upgrading databases.
• Exposure to Linux/Unix environments and enterprise/government contexts.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle database environments for high availability.
• Perform performance tuning and optimisation of databases.
• Manage RAC, Data Guard, RMAN configurations and support.
• Execute backups, recovery, patching and upgrades.
• Monitor health and troubleshoot proactively.
• Support production deployments and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams in a governed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

• Strong previous experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• Strong capability in database performance tuning and SQL troubleshooting.
• Experience undertaking backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade activities.
• Exposure to Linux/Unix operating environments.
• Experience supporting critical enterprise or government environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
