Job summary

NTT Data is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a hybrid role in Sydney. You will be responsible for secure, highly available database environments, with 2 days onsite per week, ASAP start, and a 6-month contract with potential extension.

Responsibilities include performance tuning, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, and liaising with infrastructure teams in a governed enterprise environment. Strong experience in Oracle RAC, Data Guard and RMAN is required.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Proficient in Oracle RAC, Data Guard and RMAN.
• Good SQL troubleshooting and Linux/Unix exposure.

Responsibilities

• Perform database performance tuning and optimisation activities.

You will be responsible for database administration, performance optimisation, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery activities, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting production changes within a highly governed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle database environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimisation activities.
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN configurations and support.
• Execute backup, recovery, patching, and database upgrade activities.

Skills & Experience

• Strong previous experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
• Strong capability in database performance tuning and SQL troubleshooting.
• Experience undertaking backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade activities.
• Exposure to Linux/Unix operating environments.
• Experience supporting critical enterprise or government environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
