Job summary

Kinexus is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join a Canberra-based team on a 6‑month contract. You will administer and support Oracle database environments, with emphasis on performance, availability and support for critical government systems.

The role includes monitoring, tuning, backup/recovery, patches and upgrades, plus collaboration with application, infrastructure and development teams. Middleware/WebLogic experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Backup/recovery expertise with RMAN and Data Guard.
• Middleware/WebLogic experience is highly desirable.
• NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Oracle Consultant - 6 Month Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join a Canberra-based team supporting critical government systems.

You will be responsible for the administration, performance, availability and support of Oracle database environments, with Oracle Middleware experience highly desirable. Oracle/WebLogic and Fusion Middleware environments commonly operate closely with Oracle databases, making this combined skillset particularly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle database environments.
• Perform database monitoring, tuning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Manage backup, recovery, patching and upgrades.
• Support high availability and disaster recovery activities.
• Diagnose and resolve database and application issues.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure and development teams.
• Support Oracle Middleware/WebLogic environments and integrations.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

• Strong commercial experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Hands-on Oracle database administration and performance tuning.

Current NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory (NV2 is a Bonus)
