Job summary

EOS group in Victoria is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Opto-mechanical Engineer to lead design projects from concept to production. You will design opto-mechanical assemblies, develop 3D CAD models, BOMs and technical documentation, and collaborate with optical, systems and electronics leads to ensure robust integration.

You will perform structural, thermal and vibration analyses, conduct tolerance stack‑ups, prototype builds, and contribute to validation testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification in Optics, Photonics, Systems Engineering, or related field desirable.
• 5–10+ years’ experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical engineering.
• Experience designing precision mechanical systems.
• Experience supporting complex product development programmes.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design opto-mechanical assemblies and structures.
• Develop 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Conduct design reviews and risk reduction.
• Perform FEA and thermal/vibration analyses.
• Prototype, test, and validate designs.
• Provide manufacturing and supplier support.
