Job summary

Finisar in Sydney designs and manufactures switches for fiber optic networks. The Production technician will contribute to assembling precision optical and mechanical components used to build complex modules for communication systems.

Key requirements include experience with precision cleaning, microscope inspection, clean-room work, and strong manual dexterity. You will work in a team to meet output targets and follow written work instructions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform precise cleaning and inspection.
• Experience with microscopes and precision assembly.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and work in a team to meet production targets.
• Willingness to learn new complex processes and adapt to various production needs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning optical components and sub-assemblies.
• Use microscopes to clean and inspect WSS products.
• Experience with precision cleaning and inspecting.
• Experience using microscopes.
• Good manual dexterity and patience.
• Experience working in clean-room environment.
• Work cooperatively in a team environment with demanding goals to meet output targets.
• The ability and willingness to rapidly learn new complex processes.
• Flexible to be assigned to work on a range of processes dependent on production needs.
• The ability to follow written work instructions.
• The ability for clear written and spoken communication
• Experience in the manufacture of products under a defined quality system.
