Job summary

Drover Ag in Corowa, NSW, seeks an Operations Manager to take full day-to-day ownership of farm logistics across broadacre cropping and livestock trading. You will lead three farmhands, optimise equipment uptime, safety, and workflow to maximise margins.

The role combines strategic oversight of cropping directions with live cattle and sheep trading, feedlot operations, and data-driven decision making using Agworld, Mobble and TA Farmhub. Experience in broadacre farming is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial instinct for livestock trading, feedlot dynamics, market trends and margins.
• Exceptional livestock handling skills with dog team experience is advantageous.
• Broadacre cropping experience, machinery literacy and basic agronomic knowledge.
• Proven team management with clear communication, honesty and high standards.
• Maintenance skills for Broadacre plant and farm infrastructure are desirable.
• MC Truck License (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Livestock Trading, Flock Management & Feedlot Operations: lead trading opportunities, manage ewe flock, monitor markets, liaise with agents, run margin numbers, maximise throughput and weight gains in the feedlot.
• Cropping Oversight: collaboratively plan annual cropping logistics and management to align with livestock feed demands.
• Team Leadership: coordinate daily operations, direct staff, uphold work ethic, safety and respect.
• Data & Systems: use Agworld, Mobble, TA Farmhub, collaborate with agronomists, track performance metrics for commercial decisions.
