Job summary

Modbury Hospital, Adelaide, is expanding its ophthalmology team and inviting applications for multiple RMO positions for the 2027 intake. Roles are temporary full-time through to 30 January 2028 with Rotations and potential transfers within SA Health.

You will provide inpatient/outpatient care under consultants, gain surgical exposure in theatre, and contribute to on-call coverage while developing skills in a supportive network.

Qualifications

• Must have MBBS or equivalent and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
• Eligibility to work at the RMO level within SA Health for 2027
• Demonstrated interest in ophthalmology or surgical specialties
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to work under supervision in a hospital setting
• Clear, respectful communication with patients, families and colleagues across sites
• Commitment to SA Health values of respect, integrity, accountability and care

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical assessment and management under consultant supervision
• Assist in theatre and procedural settings to gain hands-on surgical exposure
• Contribute to after-hours on-call coverage as rostered across the unit
• Support accurate clinical documentation and effective multidisciplinary team communication
