Job summary

Lasersight Victoria, part of the Clearsight Group, is a modern ophthalmology practice in East Melbourne seeking a Part-time Medical Receptionist / Patient Services Coordinator. You will be the first point of contact for patients and work with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The role is four days per week with core hours 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday. This is not a retail reception position, requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and empathy.

Qualifications

• Experience in a specialist or surgical medical practice is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, organised approach under pressure.
• High attention to detail and accuracy with patient administration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Xestro patient management system (highly regarded but not essential).
• A current (or willing to obtain) National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check ins, appointments, invoicing and payments.
• Respond to phone and in-person enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain accurate patient records in Xestro, the patient management system.
• Coordinate clinic flow and support doctors and clinical staff.
• Liaise with optometrists and external healthcare providers.
• Assisting with general administrative tasks as directed by the Clinic Director.
