Job summary

WesTrac seeks an experienced Operator Trainer to develop and deliver training across classroom, practical and onsite environments for Caterpillar and allied equipment in NSW regional sites such as Dubbo, Bathurst or Tamworth.

You will conduct operator assessments, create learning materials, and coach customers to optimise machine performance, safety and productivity while travelling regularly throughout regional NSW.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable (TAE40116) or equivalent.
  • Experience as Trainer, Assessor, Operator Trainer or site-based training role.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs and learning materials.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel across NSW.
  • Experience in mining/quarry or related heavy equipment environments preferred.

JoinWesTracas an Operator Trainer basedfromDubbo,Bathurstor TamworthNSW,you'llplay a key role in developing the skills and capability ofourcustomersandowneroperators across a range of Caterpillar and allied equipment. Drawing on your operationalexpertise, you will deliver engaging training programs that focus on equipment performance, safe operating practices, machinetechnologyand techniques that improve productivity and operational efficiency.

Working closely with customers across mining, quarrying,constructionand other heavy industry sectors, you will build strong relationships while conducting training,assessmentsand onsite coaching. This is a hands-on role that offers variety,autonomyand regular travel throughout regional NSW, supporting operators to maximise equipment performance and return on investment.As a Caterpillar dealer you will have access to certification and training materials thatisn’tavailable to anyone else.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging operator training programs across classroom, practical and onsite environments.
  • Conduct operator assessments and competency evaluations in line with company and industry requirements.
  • Demonstrate equipment capability, machinetechnologyand best-practice operating techniques.
  • Develop,reviewand continuously improve training materials and course content.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and key site stakeholders to support training outcomes.
  • Promote safe work practices,maintaintrainingrecordsand ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience operating Caterpillar and/or other heavy mobile equipment.
  • Previousexperience as a Trainer, Assessor, Operator Trainer or in a site-based training role.
  • Proven capability in developing and delivering training programs and learning materials.
  • Strong communication,presentationand stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence operational behaviours.
  • High levelsof organisation, safetyfocusand willingness to travel throughout NSW.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) and a relevant Certificate III qualification.(desirable but not essential)
  • Experience within mining, quarrying, civilconstructionor agricultural equipment environments will be highly regarded.
