Job summary

South32 is seeking a seasoned Senior Mining Operator for the Worsley complex in Western Australia. The role focuses on safe, efficient production and mentoring of day-to-day mine operations.

You will operate large equipment, drive continuous improvement, and maintain a safe workplace while meeting production targets. Accommodation is not provided; on-site travel is required within a reasonable distance of Boddington.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Mining Operator in open-cut mining
• Proven ability to lead and mentor mining operators
• Current C Class driving licence and safe operating practices
• Strong written and spoken English skills

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is aPermanentpositionon adayshift/ nightshiftroster,at our Boddington Bauxite Mine reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance.

Please note that accommodation is not provided onsite,you willbe requiredto drivein,drive out to siteon a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Boddington.

As theOperator Senior Mine,you willbe responsible forensuring safe and efficient execution of production activities while supporting and guiding mine operators through day-to-day leadership and mentoring.

Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:

• Operating equipment and completing tasks aligned with the production plan
• Supporting continuous improvement of procedures and work practices
• Promoting andmaintaininga safe and respectful work environment
• Reporting incidents, hazards, and contributing to team development

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Mining Operator in an open-cut mining environment
• Proven operating experience on:

Hitachi EX2600 (or equivalent large mining excavators)

CAT 993K Wheel Loaders (or equivalent large mining loaders)

CAT D11 Dozers and/or Komatsu D475-5 Dozers

Large Floats / Heavy Equipment Transport

• Demonstrated ability to safely operate multiple large production mining assets across mining operations.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Hold a current C Class driving licence
• Demonstratedproficiencyin both written and spoken English
• Consistently meets expected behavioural and safety standards
• Proven ability to contribute to team outcomes and display positive leadership behaviours
• Extensive hands-on experience in production mining, including detailed knowledge of mining activities and operation of production face digging equipment
