Job summary

Woodburn Electrical in Townsville is seeking an experienced Operator/Electrical TA to support the construction of electrical assets for TMR, Ergon URD, street lighting and HV infrastructure across Townsville and northern Queensland. You will assist with hands-on field work and supervision during capital works.

This full-time role offers 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday with overtime opportunities. A HR/MR licence, earthworks experience, and plant operation tickets are preferred.

Qualifications

• QLD Driver's Licence (HR/MR highly desirable).
• Earth works experience required or preferred.
• Experience & tickets to operate excavators, backhoes, skid steer, and Hydro Vac.
• LVR/CPR certification.
• Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and supervision of minor/major capital works on electrical assets.
• Upgrade/install assets including underground and overhead power reticulation and street furniture.
• Civil installation of conduits, poles, pits, footings and related works.
• Direct involvement with construction of electrical assets across Townsville and northern Queensland.

Job description

The Role:

Woodburn Electrical are seeking an experienced Operator/Electrical TA to join our team in Townsville. In this role you will assist with the construction for all Department of Main Roads electrical assets, Ergon Contestable URD works, Street Lighting, as well as HV Infrastructure works across the Townsville, Northern and Far North Queensland regions. Some of the assets you will be working on include street lighting, traffic signals, speed limit signs, CCTV and more.

This full-time opportunity, based in Townsville, offers 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements.

Key duties, but not limited to:

• Delivery of Minor/Major capital works projects on TMR, Ergon, Defence and Private assets
• Upgrade and install assets such as Under Ground and Overhead power reticulation for HV and LV networks including Transformers, RMU's, Distribution Boards and Pillars, Traffic control signals, switchboards, roadway lighting, electronic speed limit signs, help phones, CCTV and vehicle detection systems
• Civil installation of conduits, poles pits and footings, concrete slabs and plinths, assisting with underground and overhead cable pulling
• Direct involvement with the construction phase of electrical assets across Townsville, Northern and Far Northern Queensland
