The role reports to the Technical Services Manager and emphasizes strategic direction, mentoring, and technical excellence across the mining spectrum. The candidate will manage a team, drive safety and efficiency, and ensure compliance with statutory and company standards while collaborating with operations

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience in open-cut coal mining operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals.
• Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery.
• Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
