Job summary

Whizdom is seeking an Operations Support Officer to join its Canberra ICT team. The role focuses on day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of a production environment across a diverse technology stack.

You’ll monitor health, provide troubleshooting, and assist with deployments, upgrades, and configurations, working with stakeholders to keep critical systems running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have systems administration or infrastructure support experience, strong PowerShell

Qualifications

• Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support experience.
• Proficient in PowerShell and automation.
• Experience with AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, LDAP and identity services.
• Experience with Exchange or similar messaging platforms.
• Experience with endpoint management tools (SCCM/MECM/Tanium).
• Cisco networking knowledge and CUCM administration exposure.
• ITSM processes including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Windows Server administration in enterprise environments.
• Ability to create technical documentation and network diagrams (Visio).
• Prior work in secure or regulated ICT environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system and service performance to ensure operational health.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting across the production environment.
• Assist with system builds, deployments, upgrades, and configuration tasks.
• Manage user accounts and access administration activities.
• Support incident, problem, request and change management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in:

• Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support roles.
• PowerShell or similar scripting and automation technologies.
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, LDAP, and identity services.
• Microsoft Exchange or similar enterprise messaging platforms.
• Endpoint management platforms such as SCCM, MECM, Tanium, or similar tools.
• Cisco networking and general infrastructure support.
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) administration or exposure.
• IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Windows Server administration and enterprise environments.
• Technical documentation and diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio.
• Supporting secure or highly regulated ICT environments.

Experience working within Defence or Federal Government environments will be highly regarded.
