Job summary

Green Leaves Early Learning is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support a portfolio of Centres across Hobart and Launceston, with future sites in Burnie and Devonport. You will mentor Centre Directors, oversee start-up activity for new centres, and travel regularly to our Tasmanian locations to ensure delivery excellence in all areas of the business.

Qualifications

• Advanced leadership across multiple centres and travel required.
• Experience mentoring Centre Directors and teams.
• Knowledge of quality improvement processes and QIP.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management.
• Current Blue Card, Police Check and First Aid certificates.
• Ability to travel interstate and across centres in TAS and interstate.

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor Centre Directors to model commitments.
• Visit Centres regularly to drive progress and continuous improvement.
• Lead leadership development and staff training initiatives.
• Provide guidance on performance management and acting where needed.
• Review and drive improvement of each Centre’s QIP with Directors.
• Support start-ups at new Centres including recruitment and licensing prep.
• Engage with families during visits and respond to concerns.
• Ensure Centres meet regulatory standards and budgetary targets.
• Collaborate with Marketing on promotions to drive occupancy.
• Travel across Brisbane, Gold Coast and interstate to Tasmania centres.

Job description

At Green Leaves Early Learning, we believe in fostering a sense of belonging for all and giving our team the opportunity to choose their own adventure!Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be a hands on support to a group of Centres across Hobart and Launceston with future locations including Burnie and Devonport, making sure we deliver excellence across every part of the business. You will guide, support and mentor Centre Directors and their teams, and support the start-up and growth of new Centres.This portfolio includes regular travel to our Tasmanian Centres, so you will need to be comfortable travelling interstate and working hands on with teams in the field.

Day to Day You Will

• Live and breathe our Green Leaves Commitments, supporting, mentoring and guiding Centre Directors and their teams to role model them in everything they do
• Visit your Centres regularly to help teams stay on track with progress and continuous improvement
• Mentor Centre Directors hands on to build leadership capability, and engage teams in professional development and training
• Support Centre Directors with performance management, providing advice and guidance where further action is needed
• Review each Centre’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) with the Centre Director and drive continuous improvement
• Support new Centre start-ups alongside the Start-Up Officer, including recruitment, licensing preparation, training, inductions, tours and opening
• Connect with families when you’re in Centre, assist with parent tours and orientations, and support Centre Directors to respond to parent concerns
• Keep Centres presented to an exceptional standard and resourced to support children’s learning
• Ensure every Centre stays compliant with regulations and legislation, building your teams’ compliance skills
• Manage Centre KPIs with your Centre Directors across revenue and occupancy, wages, debt and controllable expenses, including monitoring rosters against legislation and wage budgets
• Work with Marketing on Centre promotions and campaigns to drive occupancy
• Travel regularly across your Brisbane and Gold Coast Centres, and interstate to our Tasmanian Centres

About You

• An Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services
• Leadership experience managing several sites in a similar role
• The ability to lead, motivate and drive a team to focus on continuous improvement
• Demonstrated experience achieving commercial and operational business outcomes
• Up to date knowledge of QikKids/Kiosk and the Child Care Subsidy System (CCSS) Guidelines, and you keep abreast of sector developments
• A current Queensland Blue Card
• A current Police Check
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates
• Current Child Protection Training
• Exceptional customer service and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised, with proven experience juggling a wide range of demands and priorities and managing your time effectively
• The ability to travel regularly across your Brisbane and Gold Coast Centres and interstate to Tasmania

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resources or Education
• Experience with Salesforce, Kindynow and Story Park
• Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Facebook
