Job summary

Amazon Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor in NSW to collaborate with Area Managers and drive efficiency in transportation networks. You will lead a team, monitor attendance and workflow, and align with company goals.

This role requires proactive leadership, ability to manage shifts, including weekends and nights, and to ensure health and safety and on-time execution of tasks. Based in Australia, the position supports a front-half sortation shift from Sunday to Wednesday within a 24/7

Amazon Logistics is seeking an Operations Supervisor to collaborate with the Area Managers and Operations Managers in driving innovation and ensuring effective execution within transportation networks. This role requires a proactive leader capable of inspiring a team to achieve performance goals and productivity standards that align with company objectives. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for monitoring team attendance and workflow, working closely with the Area Managers and Operations Managers to identify and resolve any issues that may arise. The work schedule is the front half of the sortation shift, from Sunday to Wednesday.

Amazon Operations and Distribution is a 24/7 environment and shifts may change due to business needs.

Key job responsibilities

• Contribute to fostering a strong health and safety culture by ensuring adherence to relevant laws and internal policies
• Assist in the daily oversight and management of departmental tasks
• Conduct staff debriefs, ensuring all paperwork is accurately and thoroughly completed
• Perform duties in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Allocate tasks to staff as needed to maintain workflow and meet daily performance targets
• Ensure adequate staffing levels for your area, including managing call outs for training, addressing absences, overseeing performance, providing coaching, and continually monitoring department productivity
• Support the onboarding and training of new associates to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge to perform required tasks
• Collaborate with the Area Managers and Operations Managers in tracking, analyzing, and reporting metrics
• Support the Area Managers and Operations Managers in identifying and understanding factors contributing to the achievement or shortfall of objectives
• Monitor and report on associate hours and schedules
• Address and resolve process-related issues within the area as needed
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of equipment defects
• Experience in warehouse operations
• Experience in logistics
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Can lift up to 20kg, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 10 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
