Job summary

Cleanaway, Australia's leader in sustainable waste management, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily waste collection operations in Tullamarine. You will roster, plan routes, monitor driver performance and ensure services are delivered safely on time.

You will supervise a team of drivers, conduct safety briefings, audits, and coaching, and maintain accurate records while upholding environmental and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operations or supervisory role in transport, logistics or waste management.
• HR driver's license is advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily waste collection operations, including rostering, route planning, and monitoring driver performance.
• Supervise, support, and motivate a team of drivers fostering a positive and safety-focused work environment.
• Conduct daily pre-starts, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to keep the team informed and focused on safety and compliance.
• Perform fatigue, mass and speed audit checks and provide driver coaching and training as required.
• Address operational issues promptly as needed to meet customer demands.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records and reports.

The Opportunity

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

About You

• Proven experience in an operations or supervisory role, ideally within the transport,logistics, or waste management industry
• Heavy rigid (HR) driver's licence is advantageous
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a hands‑on approach to resolving operational challenges.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer enquiries professionally.
