Job summary

Seqwater is seeking an Operations Specialist - Projects to coordinate and deliver operational projects while minimising risks. You will liaise between operational teams and project delivery to ensure timely, within-scope results and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, budgets, and risks; supporting risk treatment plans; and helping to prioritise capital works for asset protection and efficiency. A collaborative, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualifications and experience in Water Treatment, Project Delivery, or a similar technical environment.
• Basic project management experience or training is highly desirable.
• Class C Driver’s Licence is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work under supervision and take initiative on tasks and projects.

About your opportunity

We are seeking an Operations Specialist - Projects to assist in the coordination and delivery of operational and asset improvement projects. You will act as a key team member to ensure that projects are delivered within the planned scope, timeline, and quality standards, while minimising operational risks. You will also help to monitor emerging asset risks and assist in the coordination between operational teams and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

This role is responsible for:

• Assist in the coordination of operational projects within the Treatment stream, ensuring alignment with business objectives and safety standards
• Support the Lead Operations Specialist in liaising between operational teams and Project Delivery teams to ensure effective communication and project execution
• Monitor project progress and report on the status of projects, including risks, timelines, and budget, under the guidance of the Lead Operations Specialist
• Assist in the management and review of operational risks within the Treatment stream.
• Implement and review risk treatment plans for operational risks.
• Identify Capital Treatments for operational risks and assist in project prioritisation to ensure delivery of projects to reduce risk.
• Contribute to the scoping, development, and design phases of projects, ensuring that operational considerations are integrated into project plans
• Assist in the review and identification of process improvements for asset management and project delivery
• Collaborate with operational staff to ensure smooth handover of projects and the integration of new plant and equipment into ongoing operations
• Support the Lead Operations Specialist with the planning and delivery of long-term asset management strategies
• Assist with project feasibility studies, options analysis, and process improvement trials as directed

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Relevant qualifications and experience in Water Treatment, Project Delivery, or similar technical environment
• Basic project management experience or training (highly desirable).
• Class C Driver’s Licence
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
• Competence in written communication, including the preparation of technical and operational reports
• Ability to work under the direction of senior staff and show initiative in managing tasks and projects
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to participate in and contribute to team discussions, identifying opportunities for operational improvements
• Proficiency with office software tools (Word, Excel, Project scheduling tools)

This position has a salary range of $122,730.25 - $133,528.77 (depending on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
