Job summary

Seqwater is seeking a practical land management professional to support catchment and dam operations across Southeast Queensland. You will contribute to safe, fit-for-purpose facilities and public use, working as part of a coordinated team.

Key duties include responding to wildfire events, supporting prescribed burns, and delivering grounds maintenance, landscaping and asset upkeep across multiple sites. A manual C class licence is required and regional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent as a minimum.
• Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, Natural Resource Management, Horticulture (or similar).
• Fire Fighting Level 1 is desirable.
• Chainsaw Level 1 and 2 Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to wildfire events and participate in the prescribed burns program.
• Collaborate with the Fire Management team for planning and implementing fire management activities.
• Deliver a range of works across the region including grounds maintenance, landscaping, tree planting, recreational asset maintenance, fencing and minor capital improvements.
• Undertake patrols on Seqwater land and water to ensure Seqwater policies are followed.

About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Catchment & Dam Operations Supervisor, you will carry out a range of natural resource management functions across a range of assets, including catchments and recreation facilities, in in order to provide safe and fit for purpose facilities suitable for public use.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to wildfire events and participate in the delivery of the prescribed burns program for the area.
• Work in conjunction with the Fire Management team in the planning and implementation of fire management and preventative activities.
• Deliver a range of works across the Region, including grounds maintenance, landscaping, tree planting, recreational asset maintenance, fencing, and minor capital improvements, to ensure sites and facilities are safe and fit for purpose.
• Undertake patrols on Seqwater land and on water to ensure Seqwater policies are being adhered to, and take appropriate action as required.

Hours and Locations

This role will be part of team that works on a roster including weekends, public holidays and some on-call work (shift allowances apply).

About You

• Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management as a minimum; or Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, Natural Resource Management, Horticulture (or similar); or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Possess a C Class Driver’s Licence for manual vehicle (mandatory)
• Minimum three years’ experience in natural resource management
• Fire Fighting Level 1 (Desirable)
• Chainsaw Level 1 and 2 Certificate (Desirable)

This position has a salary range between $74,596.49 - 94,829.13 p.a plus 12.75% superannuation
