Job summary

Coastal Fencing Solutions on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to orchestrate daily operations, lead crews, and balance planning with commercial decision-making. You will work directly with the owner and office team, ensuring projects are prepared, delivered efficiently and completed to a high standard.

Responsibilities include planning workloads, visiting sites, tracking profitability, and improving systems as the business grows.

• Understanding of job costing, labour productivity, scheduling and margins.
• Ability to introduce practical systems and ensure they are consistently followed.

• Managing client, builder and supplier relationships, including handling escalations
• Improving systems and processes so the business runs consistently as it grows
• Identifying recruitment, training and equipment requirements

Job description

You'll take responsibility for keeping our crews, projects and resources organised, working closely with the owner and office team to ensure jobs are properly prepared, delivered efficiently and completed to a high standard. You'll work directly with the owner, with the authority to make decisions and responsibility for following them through. You'll need to be comfortable moving between planning, site visits, team management and commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

Managing daily operations across multiple crews and job sites

Planning workloads, staffing, materials and equipment with the office team

Leading crew leaders and holding teams accountable for quality, productivity and safety

Visiting sites, checking progress and resolving issues before they become larger problems

Monitoring job costs, labour performance, variations and rework to protect profitability

Managing client, builder and supplier relationships, including handling escalations

Improving systems and processes so the business runs consistently as it grows

Identifying recruitment, training and equipment requirements

About you

An experienced Operations Manager who has successfully managed multiple teams, competing priorities and the demands of a busy operation

A background in construction, civil works, landscaping or trade services would be valuable

Demonstrated operational leadership is essential

A strong record of leading teams and improving business performance

Understanding of job costing, labour productivity, scheduling and margins

Ability to introduce practical systems and ensure they are consistently followed

Sets clear expectations and addresses performance issues directly and professionally

Communicates well with crews, clients, suppliers and the business owner

Makes sound decisions, takes responsibility and follows through

Confident using technology to improve planning, reporting and communication

Holds a current driver's license

Salary up to $150,000 per year, based on experience and capability
