High Country Sheds & Carports is a locally owned and operated business specialising in the design and supply of premium steel sheds, patios and carports throughout South East Queensland. We're known for delivering exceptional customer service, quality products and making the building process as easy as possible for our clients. As demand continues to grow, we're looking for an Operations Manager who can help lead our day-to-day operations, support our team and continue improving the systems that keep our business running efficiently.
This is much more than an office management position. You'll become the operational backbone of the business, ensuring projects flow smoothly from enquiry through to completion while supporting our sales team, installers and customers. You'll constantly look for ways to improve efficiency, customer experience and business performance.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
Coordinate projects from sale through to completion
Manage project timelines and workflow
Ensure customer expectations are exceeded
Monitor workloads and allocate resources effectively
Lead, support and mentor office & on-site staff
Assist with recruitment and onboarding
Foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture
Conduct staff reviews and performance management
Help build an accountable and motivated team
Schedule site measures and installations
Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
Liaise with builders, engineers and certifiers
Ensure jobs stay on schedule
Review and improve business systems
Streamline workflows
Develop procedures and documentation
Drive continuous improvement throughout the business
Maintain high standards across all projects
Resolve customer issues professionally
Monitor project quality and completion
Ensure company standards are consistently met
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Monitor project profitability
Review operational KPIs
Produce reports for management
Identify opportunities for business growth
Oversee Workplace Health & Safety compliance
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Maintain licences, documentation and records
We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of Operations Manager experience.
We're looking for someone who is organised, driven and wants to build something great.
Ideally you'll have:
Previous experience managing people or operations
Excellent organisational skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
High attention to detail
Great problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritise multiple projects
Confidence making decisions
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office & CRM systems)
Experience within construction, sheds, building supplies or trade industries would be highly regarded
