Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is hiring an Operations Manager to lead a team of Project Managers across underground operations. The role is FIFO ex Perth, based at the Kalgoorlie Operations Centre, on a 4/3 roster with 12-hour days, reporting to the General Manager.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in underground mining, experience as a PM for an underground contractor, and relevant tickets/licences. The role offers relocation support and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of underground contract mining experience.
• Experience as a Project Manager for an underground mining contractor.
• Mine Engineering degree is desirable but not essential.
• Current Shift Supervisor Ticket is required or willing to obtain.
• Current Australian C Class Manual Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, efficient delivery of operational performance across multiple operations.
• Manage operational budgets and financial performance, with cost control and forecasting.
• Drive strong commercial outcomes and supplier management.
• Contribute to group improvements and growth initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs to drive productivity.
• Mentor Project Managers to build leadership and high-performing teams.

Job description

Due to significant growth, NSMS have a rare opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for leading a high-performing team of Project Managers across multiple underground operations.

This role is being offered as FIFO ex Perth, working a 4/3 roster of 12-hour days and is predominantly based at our Operations Centre in Kalgoorlie. It is ideally suited to a strategic and people-focused leader who can strengthen operational capability and support the continued growth and success of the business.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the safe, efficient and consistent delivery of operational performance across multiple operations, both domestic and international, ensuring all scopes of work are achieved.
• Manage operational budgets and financial performance, ensuring effective cost control, forecasting and achievement of business targets.
• Drive strong commercial outcomes and supplier management.
• Contribute to group business improvements and growth initiatives.
• Monitor and manage key performance indicators across the business to drive productivity performance.
• Support and mentor Project Managers to build leadership capability and drive high-performing teams.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 10 + years' experience in underground contract mining.
• Previous experience as a Project Manager for an underground mining contractor.
• Degree in Mine Engineering is desired but not essential
• Successful candidate must hold, or be willing to hold, a current Shift Supervisor Ticket
• Current Australian "C" Class Manual Driver's Licence.
