Job summary

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced and energetic Operations Manager for Avani Living Queen's Wharf Residences in Brisbane. You will lead daily hotel operations, inspire high-performing teams across Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance, and balance guest service excellence with strong commercial outcomes.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will drive guest experience, manage budgets and P&L, and coach teams to deliver outstanding standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hotel department head or operations leadership.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to coach high-performing teams.
• Budget control, cost management and financial targeting experience.
• Solid understanding of hotel operations, guest service delivery and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to deliver memorable guest experiences.
• Provide operational leadership across all hotel areas for seamless guest service.
• Oversee daily operations with rostering and weekend/evening coverage as required.
• Drive guest experience improvements and manage guest feedback and issues.
• Support brand activations, events and initiatives to enhance engagement and performance.
• Monitor profitability, budgets and costs to maximise revenue.

Avani Living Queen's Wharf Residences is seeking an experienced and energetic Operations Manager to help shape the future of one of Brisbane's most exciting lifestyle destinations.

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll lead daily hotel operations, inspire high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional guest experiences across Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing guest service excellence with strong commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead, coach and inspire our Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to create memorable guest experiences and maintain exceptional property standards.
• Provide operational leadership across all areas of the hotel, ensuring a seamless guest experience and high service standards.
• Oversee daily hotel operations, including rotational management roster coverage, with flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
• Lead hotel operations during peak trading periods, ensuring teams are well supported and service delivery remains exceptional.
• Drive guest experience and service excellence by proactively managing guest feedback, resolving issues, and implementing continuous improvements.
• Support brand activations, property events, and special initiatives to enhance guest engagement and property performance.
• Drive a positive and engaged workplace culture through effective coaching, mentoring, and development of team members.
• Monitor property performance, presentation, and profitability, ensuring all areas meet company standards and financial targets.
• Drive hotel profit and expense management by monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and maximising revenue opportunities.
• Conduct regular financial reviews, including P&L analysis, to support strong commercial outcomes and owner returns.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Previous experience in a hotel Department Head, Operations Manager, or senior operational leadership role within a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, support financial performance, and achieve operational targets.
• A strong understanding of hotel operations, guest service delivery, and commercial performance.
• A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Professional presentation and a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem-solving.
• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic hotel environment and changing operational requirements.
