Job summary

DKR Logistics Pty Ltd is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the despatch, route planning and driver coordination for our Crestmead site, servicing Queensland. You will manage seven long-term supervisors and drive daily efficiency and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a strong transport background, proven leadership, and comfort with KPI reporting, planning and problem solving. This is a hands-on role in a busy logistics environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Excel is essential.
• Good computer skills and experience working with Transport Management Systems.
• Strong transport background or similar experience in a Scheduling and Maintenance role.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work under pressure whilst achieving deadlines.
• Able to multi-task, share team responsibilities to maintain maximum monitoring level of prompt, efficient and courteous customer service.
• Flexible approach to work to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a transport environment, ideally in a logistics operational role, with good knowledge of SE Queensland, Northern NSW regional areas ideal.
• Proven understanding of Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and controlling customer and company daily and weekly KPI’s to a high standard.
• Liaising with Drivers, loading staff and Customers to resolve issues, improve efficiencies in the fleet and maintain standards with Safety Standards and COR requirements
• Performance management of staff.
• Liaise with the fleet team in relation to service and maintenance requirements.
• Manage work allocation to ensure all services are up to date and forward planning maximised.

DKR Logistics Pty Ltd is a privately owned Transport and Logistics company working directly for a single client who is a large player in the distribution of groceries all over Queensland. Based at Crestmead, on the clients’ site, we currently perform over 500 deliveries per day with a mix of specialised company and sub-contractor vehicles.

The role

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the DKR team who are despatching transport routes for that day’s deliveries, allocating trucks, trailers, loading docks and drivers. You will manage 7 long term supervisors to ensure the site is running efficiently every day

Responsibilities
