Job summary

CPB Contractors is seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to lead our Queensland Building business through a period of growth and expansion. The role reports to the General Manager QLD and will oversee multiple major projects across health, education, and community infrastructure sectors.

You will lead Project Directors, Construction Managers and project teams, ensuring safety, client outcomes and commercial performance while shaping CPB’s future in Queensland.

Qualifications

• 15+ years' leadership experience within the construction industry.
• Experience within a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor environment.
• Track record delivering major projects valued at $500M+ and overseeing significant project portfolios.
• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial, contractual and client management capability.
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence and quality project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational performance of a portfolio of Queensland Building projects across sectors including health, education, sports and community infrastructure.

Lead the Delivery of Queensland's Next Generation of Landmark Projects

Due to the retirement of a key staff member, CPB Contractors is seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to lead our Queensland Building business through a period of significant growth and expansion.

With a long-term pipeline exceeding $3 billion of building work, this leadership opportunity will play a critical role in shaping CPB’s future in Queensland. Reporting to the General Manager QLD, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of major projects while driving performance, profitability, safety, client relationships, and growth.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the delivery of some of Queensland's most complex and high‑profile building projects while leading experienced Project Directors, Construction Managers, and project teams across multiple concurrent projects.

The Opportunity

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of major projects across sectors including:

• Health

• Sports and Community Infrastructure

You will be accountable for the leadership and performance of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring excellence in safety, client outcomes, commercial performance, and operational delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership and support to Project Directors, Project Managers and Construction Managers

About You

You are a proven construction leader with a track record of delivering large-scale building projects and managing complex project portfolios.

You will bring:

• 15+ years' leadership experience within the construction industry
• Experience within a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractor environment
• Demonstrated success delivering major projects valued at $500M+ and/or overseeing significant project portfolios
• Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong commercial, contractual and client management capability
• A reputation for developing high-performing teams and achieving exceptional delivery outcomes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• A commitment to safety, operational excellence and quality project delivery
