Temperzone Limited in Sydney, Australia, is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to lead manufacturing improvements, support new product introductions, and drive operational excellence within a safety-focused environment.

You will partner with production, maintenance, product development and engineering teams to optimise processes, implement lean initiatives, manage CAPEX/OPEX projects, and deliver measurable efficiency gains across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s honours degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• 3–5 years in manufacturing, industrial operations, or engineering roles.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing and problem-solving methods.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor.
• Demonstrated project management and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and operational improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
• Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support audits (ISO9001 and BEST) and implement resulting actions.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX projects from start to end.
• Partner with Product Development to improve design for manufacture.
• Lead prototype builds, pre-production runs, and new product introduction activities.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments, and manufacturing documentation.
• Provide technical support to production, maintenance, procurement, warehouse, and distribution teams.
• Support machinery selection, commissioning, process improvements, and technology upgrades.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement

About the role

We’re looking for an Operations Engineer to join our manufacturing team and play a key role in improving production performance, supporting new product introductions, and driving operational excellence. Working closely with production, maintenance, product development, and engineering teams, you’ll lead improvement projects, optimise manufacturing processes, and help ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or engineering environments
• Experience within industrial or manufacturing operations.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
