Job summary

BlueScope Steel is seeking an organised Operations Coordinator for our Unanderra site to support day-to-day manufacturing operations. This full-time role involves coordinating administration across HR, operations, training, safety, quality and environment, with regular interactions across site leaders and teams.

Reporting to site leaders, you will manage office functions, maintain records, and ensure documentation control while upholding safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations and administration of the manufacturing site.
  • Provide administrative support across HR, operations, training, reliability, health and safety, environment and quality.
  • Coordinate stationery orders, purchasing, filing and general office organisation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records and document-control processes.
  • Keep the site training database and competency matrix up to date.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders professionally and timely.
  • Support site environmental requirements, including licences, permits and procedures.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to Zero Harm commitments.

Operations Coordinator (12 month Fixed term)

The Opportunity


Orrcon Steel is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team based in Unanderra. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe andleading Australian steel distributor with nationallyrecognised brands.


We’re looking for an organised and proactive Operations Support professional to help keep our manufacturing site running smoothly.


In this varied role, you’ll provide efficient coordination and administrative support across day-to-day manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with site leaders and operational teams, contributing to office administration, safety, training, quality, reliability and general business activities.


This full-time permanent role, will see you working Monday – Friday across our day shift


What Will You Do?


Working within a collaborative team environment, your key responsibilities will include:



  • Supporting the daily operations and administration of the manufacturing site

  • Providing administrative assistance across office functions, HR, operations, training, reliability, health and safety, environment and quality

  • Coordinating stationery orders, authorised purchasing, filing and general office organisation

  • Maintaining accurate documentation, records and document-control processes

  • Keeping the site training database and competency matrix up to date

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders in a professional, accurate and timely manner

  • Supporting site environmental requirements, including relevant licences, permits and procedures

  • Demonstrating safe work practices and contributing to the site’s Zero Harm commitment

Who you’ll work with


You’ll build relationships across the site, working with site managers, engineers, HR and HSE representatives, shift supervisors, coordinators and team leaders. You’ll also interact with external suppliers and site visitors.
