Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Operations Coordinator for our Mackay team to orchestrate daily collection schedules, optimise routes, and ensure top-tier service delivery. The role operates on-site, Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm, and focuses on logistics coordination and administrative accuracy.

Ideal candidates bring transport/logistics experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within transport / logistics
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• SAP experience (advantageous but not required)
• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively

Responsibilities

• Check and review driver paperwork for accuracy and completeness
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain organised records
• Assist with other operational tasks as required
• Manage the daily collection schedule to ensure resource allocation and job completion
• Identify route optimisation and continual improvement opportunities to maximise efficiency
• Ensure customer expectations are exceeded
• Cross-check driver confirmations and resolve anomalies
• Ensure safety standards are maintained and risk assessments are carried out

The Opportunity

We're looking for a dynamic Operations Coordinator to join our Mackay team! You'll be the key player in orchestrating our daily collection schedules, optimising routes, and ensuring top-notch service delivery to our customers.

This role is Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm on site.

What you'll be responsible for

Checking and reviewing driver paperwork for accuracy and completeness

Performing administrative tasks

Maintaining organised records and files

Assisting with other operational tasks as required

Managing the daily collection schedule to ensure resource allocation and job completion

Identifying route optimisation and continual improvement opportunities maximising efficiency and productivity

Ensuring customer expectations are exceeded

Cross checking accuracy of driver confirmations, ensuring anomalies are resolved.

Ensuring safety standards are maintained, preparing job analysis and ensuring risk assessments are carried out

What you'll need to be successful

Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within transport / logistics

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
